October resources

21 October

This lesson looked at giving instructions / explanations and we used a video clip of a TV chef showing us how to cook a pasta dish. The flipchart and video are below. The Word document contains the tapescript of the video if you want to read it while watching.

You can watch the video clip here - the writing task is shown below. Try to do this by Thursday 30th October, please.

Writing task

Imagine that you are asked to write the script for a television cookery programme.
Choose a relatively uncomplicated but typical national dish - it could be Spanish, typical of a particular region or from another country.
Write the script that the programme presenter would use to explain to the viewers how to cook the dish.
You can use a more informal register as this will be spoken, but ensure that spelling is accurate - e.g. 'going to' rather than 'gonna'.
You will be given the transcript of the 'Naked Chef' to guide you.
Write about 250 words.
